Jupiter’s Magnetic Shield Shattered by Solar Storm—Stunning Scientists with a 500°C Heat Surge

(Worthy Insights) – A powerful solar storm has delivered a dramatic blow to Jupiter’s magnetosphere, revealing that even the largest planet in our solar system isn’t immune to the Sun’s ferocity. As detailed in a new study published on April 3, 2025, in Geophysical Research Letters, researchers recorded a surge of heat in Jupiter’s upper atmosphere, rising to a staggering 500°C, after a stream of solar wind crushed the gas giant’s magnetic shield. The findings not only challenge assumptions about the resilience of gas giants but also offer a model for how similar events might affect Earth’s atmosphere and technology.

The event under investigation dates back to 2017, when a dense burst of solar wind hit Jupiter, causing a rapid compression of its magnetosphere—the massive magnetic bubble that normally shields the planet from charged particles. This marked the first time scientists have captured and analyzed such an atmospheric response on any outer planet.

By combining data from NASA’s Juno spacecraft, the Keck Observatory, and solar wind modeling, researchers were able to link the magnetospheric compression to a planet-wide heat anomaly. The storm created a superheated hotspot that extended across half of Jupiter’s circumference, elevating temperatures in the upper atmosphere from the usual 350°C to well over 500°C–a difference of 150 degrees. The Return of the Dire Wolf

(Worthy Insights) – Romulus and Remus are doing what puppies do: chasing, tussling, nipping, nuzzling. But there’s something very un-puppylike about the snowy white 6-month olds—their size, for starters. At their young age they already measure nearly 4 ft. long, tip the scales at 80 lb., and could grow to 6 ft. and 150 lb. Then there’s their behavior: the angelic exuberance puppies exhibit in the presence of humans—trotting up for hugs, belly rubs, kisses—is completely absent. They keep their distance, retreating if a person approaches. Even one of the handlers who raised them from birth can get only so close before Romulus and Remus flinch and retreat. This isn’t domestic canine behavior, this is wild lupine behavior: the pups are wolves. Not only that, they’re dire wolves—which means they have cause to be lonely.

The dire wolf once roamed an American range that extended as far south as Venezuela and as far north as Canada, but not a single one has been seen in over 10,000 years, when the species went extinct. Plenty of dire wolf remains have been discovered across the Americas, however, and that presented an opportunity for a company named Colossal Biosciences.

Relying on deft genetic engineering and ancient, preserved DNA, Colossal scientists deciphered the dire wolf genome, rewrote the genetic code of the common gray wolf to match it, and, using domestic dogs as surrogate mothers, brought Romulus, Remus, and their sister, 2-month-old Khaleesi, into the world during three separate births last fall and this winter—effectively for the first time de-extincting a line of beasts whose live gene pool long ago vanished. TIME met the males (Khaleesi was not present due to her young age) at a fenced field in a U.S. wildlife facility on March 24, on the condition that their location remain a secret to protect the animals from prying eyes. Israel’s Defense Minister reveals Iranian funding Hamas’ plan to destroy Israel

(Worthy Insights) – Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has unveiled for the first time direct evidence of Iran’s support for Hamas’ plan to destroy Israel.

During a visit to the intelligence unit on Sunday, Katz presented transcripts of conversations obtained from the tunnels of senior Hamas leaders in Gaza, showing a clear connection between Iran and key Hamas figures Yahya Sinwar and Muhammad Deif.

The intercepted documents reveal that Sinwar and Deif demanded $500 million from the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. The funds were requested to further Hamas’ campaign against Israel and its struggle against the United States. Despite Iran’s difficult economic situation, the head of the Palestinian branch of the Revolutionary Guards, Izadi, agreed to the request, emphasizing that Iran would continue to provide financial support to Hamas because the fight against Israel and the US is Tehran’s top priority. Psychology expert believes Israeli strategy is to make Hamas fear the people of Gaza

(Worthy Insights) – Israeli clinical psychologist expert Dr. Ofer Grosbard believes that Israel is increasingly engaging in psychological warfare aimed at making Hamas members fear Gaza’s general population.

“You don’t need to mobilize divisions, and you don’t need to lose human lives – you need to understand the enemy,” Grosbard said in an interview with the Israeli news outlet Maariv.

“To this end, psychological warfare must be used,” he argued, lamenting that Israel has traditionally been slow on this war front due to a lack of understanding of the enemy mentality. [ Source (Read More…) ]

Undercover UK journalist exposes ‘BBC’ terror ties

(Worthy Insights) – Israeli innovation envoy Fleur Hassan-Nahoum sits down with David Collier, a prominent U.K.-based investigative journalist, to expose one of the most shocking examples of media malpractice in recent memory.

Collier reveals how a BBC documentary about a young boy’s suffering during the Gaza war deliberately failed to disclose that the child was the son of a senior Hamas official—information he uncovered in just three hours through basic research that the public service broadcaster either ignored or intentionally concealed. That was only the beginning! [ Source (Read More…) ]

Security forces report 80% drop in Ramadan terror attacks, after West Bank crackdown

(Worthy Insights) – There was a significant decrease in terror attacks in the West Bank this Ramadan compared to last year, according to a joint statement released by IDF and Shin Bet on Wednesday.

Ramadan 2024 saw 27 major attacks originating from the West Bank, while this year, only three occurred, marking an 80 percent drop, the statement said.

The IDF and Shin Bet attributed this downturn to intensified security efforts and counterterrorism operations, particularly in the northern West Bank. The offensive, dubbed Operation Iron Wall, was launched on January 21. [ Source (Read More…) ]

Hamas admits 72% of deaths are combat-aged men as it quietly reduces civilian death toll – report

(Worthy Insights) – Hamas quietly removed the names of thousands of Palestinians it had previously alleged were killed during the Israel-Hamas war, Salo Aizenberg, from the US-based non-profit organisation Honest Reporting told The Telegraph on Wednesday after analyzing Hamas’s March 2025 casualty update.

Hamas has previously claimed that 70% of casualties have been women and children, a claim no longer reflected in their recently updated lists, according to the research. Approximately 72% of fatalities are aged 13-55 and are men – the demographic category aligns with Hamas combatants.

“Hamas’s new March 2025 fatality list quietly drops 3,400 fully ‘identified’ deaths listed in its August and October 2024 reports – including 1,080 children. These ‘deaths’ never happened. The numbers were falsified – again,” Aizenberg asserted. [ Source (Read More…) ]
