Openly transgender candidate Sarah McBride wins Delaware seat in congressional first

(Worthy Insights) – Delaware state Sen. Sarah McBride becomes the first openly transgender person to be elected to Congress, according to reports.

Democratic candidate McBride defeated Republican candidate John Whalen III at 57.6% with 63% reporting, NBC News reports.
