As a Christian I believe our sole purpose is to go out and win souls for Christ. Being the ‘moral police’ only alienates people.
Herod had John the Baptist beheaded because his wife wanted him out of the way – simple as that. This is just one glaring instance of the social injustices that took place in Jesus’ day. However, nowhere do we find Jesus or the Apostles being sidelined from their ministry of winning souls in order to address social issues. 2 Tim 2:4 says, “No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.”
For many women terminating their pregnancy is an enormously traumatic and soul destroying outcome. As Christians, should we be condemning them or walking along side them telling them no matter what their circumstance or what they have done Jesus not only loves them and is able to forgives them?
I’m neither for nor against abortion as I refuse to dictate to a women her course of action on such an intense life changing option. Each of us must stand before God and give an account of our own personal conduct. If I examine myself, I’ve more than enough on my own plate and am in no position whatsoever to cast the first stone.
Darren,
Life starts at conception. YESHUA [the Lord Jesus] loves us sinners. All have sinned. Most women and even men know that, that “thing” in their stomach 🙂 — it is a human being. Why the culture of the US has taught women to kill their own children, I don’t know. Regardless of the myriad views on abortion —- bottom line, it DOES take someone’s Life. Someone, we might call innocent to some degree. What right does a woman have to take someone else’s life just because that life inconveniences her? Does GOD give the AOC’s of this world the right to kill small babies so a BIG woman is not inconvenienced?
This is not a health right, to kill little babies just because no one speaks for them.
As you rightly said, we will all be judged. Don’t let the lightness of your words excuse murder.
